Ismail Yassin during his visit to the Cairo Tower in 1961
A very beautiful photo of the great actor Ismail Yassin taken during his visit to the Cairo Tower in 1961 after the tower's inauguration. The photo shows some of the tower's workers at that time.
The Cairo Tower was built during the reign of President Gamal Abdel Nasser and cost 6 million Egyptian pounds at the time.
The Cairo Tower was renovated from 2006 to 2008 by the Egyptian Arab Contractors Company. The restoration and repair process cost approximately 15 million Egyptian pounds. This included treating and restoring the tower's concrete, adding three floors of metal structures below the tower, and another floor directly above the main entrance. The project also included the construction of an emergency staircase and a visitor elevator, developing the tower's entrance, refinishing the tower's facade, and adding new exterior lighting.
