Tuvalu is a tiny island nation in the central Pacific Ocean, made up of nine low-lying coral islands and atolls.

Its de facto capital is Funafuti, where most government offices are located. Despite its small size, Tuvalu is known for its peaceful atmosphere, turquoise lagoons, coral reefs, and simple island life.

Historically, the islands were settled by Polynesian peoples, later became known as the Ellice Islands under British rule, and gained independence in 1978.

Its main attractions include
the Funafuti Marine Conservation Area, ideal for snorkeling, diving, coral viewing, and seeing turtles;
Nanumea, the northernmost atoll with World War II remains;
and Funafala, where visitors can experience traditional Tuvaluan life.

Tuvalu is best suited for travelers seeking quiet beaches, local culture, marine nature, and an authentic Pacific island experience.
