Egypt, Luxor, Esna , Bords du Nil, chadoufs 1856
A shot from the banks of the Nile River in the city of Esna, now part of Luxor Governorate, taken by a French photographer during his trip to Egypt in the mid-nineteenth century, from 1855-1856 AD.
We see the shadoof, which was used to draw water from the Nile and lift it to higher places.
